Pure Neux non-rooted phone?

I recently soft-bricked my phone and took it to a nearby tech to have the Android 6.01 OS re-installed on my Nexus 6. After I got home I checked it out and discovered he had installed a non-rooted version of Pure Nexus. It is stock Android but with a few minor tweaks available and the phone is NOT rooted. I have searched for info on this non-rooted, halt-baked OS but can't find any info on what it is and how to get the full rooted version. Can someone enlighten me please?
